Robert Rob Junior Reid

Robert Junior Reid, 83, of Lenoir passed away on Saturday, February 19, 2011 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Robert was born February 18, 1928 in Caldwell County to the late William Ransom Reid and Lula Helton Reid. He is also preceded in death by three brothers; Jim, Ernie and Floyd Reid and two sisters; Beatrice Reid Benfield Bowman and Anna Lou Reid Smith.

Robert was a retired foreman from Drexel Heritage Furniture with over 35 years of service and was a member of Central Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the United States Marines and served in the Korean conflict.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Dorothy “Dot” Louise McLean Reid, two sons; Dean Reid and wife Diane of Lenoir, Danny Reid and wife Karen of Granite Falls, one daughter; Debbie Hildebran and husband Rick of Connelly Springs, one sister, Rachel R. Willis of George Hildebran, six grandchildren, Chris Estes and wife Wendy, Dawn Christian and husband Josh, David Hildebran, Jennifer Baker and husband Eric, Jessica Reid and Jennifer Reid, two great grandchildren; Abby and Kaden Christian.

The family will receive friends at Pendry’s Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at Pendry’s Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 am with the Rev. Jeff Brown and Rick Hildebran officiating the services.

Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.
