Mr. Johnson was born in Catawba County to the late Tapley Johnson and Irene Schronce Watson. He was retired from the furniture industry and was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam Era.
Survivors include his wife, Shelley W. Whittington Johnson; his son William Lipscomb and his daughter Rachel Garrett.
Services for Mr. Johnson will be private.
