Mrs. Ward was born on October 29, 1928 in Watauga County to the late Clarence Miller and Beulah Greer Miller.
Ruby was a loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to farm and work in the garden. Ruby also liked to fish, freshwater and salt water.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Buster Ward, sons, William “Bill” Ward, Buster Ward, a daughter, Mae Ward, three brothers, Henry, Glen and James Miller, and a sister, Edna Minton.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 30, 2018 in the Chapel of Pendrys Lenoir Funeral Home at 1:00 pm with Rev. Leonard Younce officiating. Burial will follow at Adams Cemetery in Vilas, NC.
Serving as pallbearers will be Darrell Ward, Derrick Ward, Shannon Rice, Brian Ward, Richard Teague, Phillip Triplette and Brandon Triplette.
The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, David Ward of Lenoir, daughter Jane Teague and husband Richard of Ocean Isle Beach, NC, sister, Pauline Lewis of Boone, eleven grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
