He was preceded in death by his father James Hatton and his brother Jeff Hatton.

Scott was The General Manager at Bobcat of Lenoir. He will be remembered for his generosity and all of the children he seemed to keep adopting. He enjoyed spending his time outdoors; hunting in Georgia and competing in bass fishing tournaments with his favorite son on Lake Rhodhiss and Lake Hickory. Scott spent many years as a Crew Chief and building race cars at Tri-County Speedway and Hickory Motor Speedway.
He was so very generous and loving to every person he spoke to. Scott was always there for someone in need. He would give the shirt off his back for anybody. He was always the life of the party and always had a great time. Between raising kids, grandkids, working, drinking beer and putting up with family, he always seemed to wear a smile on his face. He will be missed by so many. He touched the hearts of every person in his life. Thank you Scott Hatton for being a light in everyone's life for so many years. Always in our hearts, you will never be forgotten.
