She was born December 20, 1950 in Caldwell County to the late James Bernard Hawkins Sr. and Dorothy Coffey Hawkins.
In addition to her parents, she is proceeded in death by her husband Eddie Phillips.
Those left to cherish her memory are a brother, James Bernard Hawkins Jr. and wife Sharon and two sisters; Pamela Hawkins Greene and husband Dana and Cynthia Alley and husband Larry, all of Lenoir
