Sherry Triplett Mikael, 65, of Lenoir passed on August 19, 2026 at her residence. She was born January 17, 1961 in Caldwell County to the late Ranzy Burl Triplett Sr. and the late Elizabeth (Linda) Mikeal Triplett.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband David Warren Mikeal, two brothers: Ranzy Burl Triplett Jr. and Darrell Triplett.
Sherry was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who consistently placed her family at the center of her life. Her devotion was steady and sure, expressed in the care she gave, the loyalty she showed, and the way she stood firmly beside those she loved.
She found genuine joy in the simple, meaningful traditions that brought people together, especially her yearly beach trips shared with family and friends—times that will be remembered with gratitude and held close by all who were part of them.
Sherry’s working life reflected the same perseverance and commitment that shaped so much of who she was. She worked for Thomasville Furniture for almost 30 years, and in earlier years was employed by Singer and Broyhill.
Sherry will also be remembered for her plainspoken honesty—someone who told it like it is, with no sugar coating needed. In that candor was a rare strength: a steadfast willingness to speak clearly, to protect what mattered, and to advocate without hesitation for the people she cherished.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son Derek Triplett of Lenoir, a sister, Kathy Call and husband Bill of Lenoir, a grandson Dalton Triplett of Lenoir and a great-granddaughter, Lakelyn of Hudson.
A service to honor Sherry will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at 11:00 am in the chapel of Pendry's Lenoir Funeral Home with
Pastor Glenn Ward officiating. Interment will follow the service at Confidence Advent Christian Church in Lenoir.
Serving as pallbearers will be Wesley Braswell, Dalton Triplett, Terry Coffey, Brian Gnann, Austin Braswell and Tiffany Laws.
The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, from 10 am until 11:00 am at Pendry's Lenoir Funeral Home.
Pendry's Lenoir Funeral Home is honored to server the Mikeal family.
