She was preceded in death by her father Dow Triplett, her mother Velma Townsend Triplett, her four brothers, and her three sisters.
Left to cherish Shirley's memory are her son Charles Edward Moretz (wife Patricia) of Virginia, her daughter Sandra Walsh of Lenoir, her grandchildren Bonnie Dials, Ashley Collins, Eliza Wayman, and Glenna Walsh, her 13 great-grandchildren, and her 2 great-great grandchildren.
The family will hold a private memorial at a later date.
