

Shirley Herman Robbins, of Kingston Residence, Hickory, formerly of Lenoir, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2013 at the Jack and Shirley Robbins Center of Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Hudson.
Shirley was born April 23, 1930, in Caldwell County to the late Cecil J. Herman and Ruby Crotts Herman. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Warren E. (Bill) Kirby, and her second husband, T. M. (Jack) Robbins, her sister, Betty Campbell and her brother, Allen Herman.
She is survived by one niece, Carolyn Herman Teach of Naples, Florida, and one grandnephew, David Teach of Tampa, Florida; three sisters-in-law: Carolyn Robbins Sigmon of Hickory, Kathryn Robbins Jackson of Lenoir and Margaret Bradford Robbins of Hudson. Also left to cherish her memory are Kay and Gary Lambert, Special Friends and caregivers.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 12, at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Hudson, conducted by the Reverend R. Mack Jarvis, III and Dr. Wade Dellinger. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the church.
Serving as pallbearers will be Garrett Lambert, Brent McCall, Ross Cowan, Ronnie Simmons, Ben Davis and Jerry Crump. Honorary pallbearers will be Mrs. Catherine Teague, Mrs. Margaret Sullivan, Mrs. Thelma Hawkins, Mrs. Helen Kincaid, Mr. James K (Whitey) Hawkins, Mr. Boyd Wilson and Dr. Donald Lackey.
The family has entrusted funeral arrangements to Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home & Crematory of Lenoir.
