Steven Lamar Bryant

Steven Lamar Bryant, 73, of Lenoir passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2020 at Caldwell Memorial Hospital in Lenoir.

Mr. Bryant was born July 8, 1947 in Caldwell County to the late Frank Laney Bryant and Myrtle Poarch Bryant.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Terry Bryant and a sister, Janice Bryant. Mr. Bryant was a maintenance employee at Singer Furniture for 25 years and was a member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church in Lenoir. He was a loving and dedicated husband, father and grandfather who truly enjoyed the time with his family above all else. He enjoyed going to the dragstrip, working on old cars and especially fishing with his son and grandsons.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 50 years, Scottie Chapman Bryant, of the home, his son, Eric Matthew Bryant of Lenoir, grandsons, Hunter Matthew Bryant and fiancé Emily Simmons of Lenoir, Alex Chandler Bryant of Lenoir and a sister, Judy Sipes and husband Bill of Bethlehem.

A memorial service will be held to honor Mr. Bryant at Meadowbrook Baptist Church on Sunday, August 9, 2020 at 3:00 pm at with Rev. Roger Beck officiating.

The Covid-19 Virus has its own name—not a human one and it does not discriminate.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorials in honor of Steve be made to Meadowbrook Baptist Church at 914 Meadowlane Drive, Lenoir, NC 28645.
