She was completely loved and cherished by everyone, including her sisters Wenonnah and Dakotah, her parents Mandy and Ben, her grandparents Shelley, Kelly, Joe, and Mary Jo, her aunt Elizabeth, and her cousin (and favorite playmate) Ocean. All who loved her will see the world as a bit darker and less gentle with her passing.

It is very important that we help you understand what a totally remarkable and unique individual Tonks was. If you were in her family she loved you completely; asked for belly rubs by putting her front legs up on a chair so you could do a proper job of it; knew you would love to share your meals with her as long as Ben wasn’t looking, and when at Grandma’s demanded a daily walk. Tonks would overcome her great fear of the world in order to protect her family from evil UPS drivers and dangerous bears. She loved the word “treat,” would turn her head to make sure she understood what you were really saying to her, and pawed you to let you know she needed something badly, just in case you missed it. She made a great pillow, loved to share the couch and bed with Grandpa Joe, and was a wonderful friend and able to keep all secrets in total confidence.

At two months old she made Wenonnah’s perfect day ever when Ben brought her home to be their dog. It’s hard to believe it but for a brief time Dakotah thought everyone was nuts to love this terrifying creature but she, too, was won over by Tonk’s perfect love and devotion and became one of Tonk’s best friends.

Tonks knew she had the best family in the world. You could tell that by the way she hid from everyone else she didn’t know and didn’t want to know, even 8-year-olds. She realized early on that to be a Kutschied family member was the only way to go and if you were over 5’4” and/or unknown, you clearly didn’t belong. She loved and was loved completely. In the funeral business they say you can tell if a person was loved by whether or not it rained on the day of passing. Let it be recorded that on the evening Tonks passed, there was a downpour.
