Vivian Kincaid Arney

Vivian “Polly” Rachel Kincaid Dula Arney, 81, of Lenoir passed away Thursday, August 25th, 2011 at her residence.

Mrs. Arney was born in Caldwell County to the late Lewis Kelly Kincaid and Channie Belle Mikeal. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Lawrence F. Dula and 2nd husband, Fred A. Arney; brothers, Paul and Jerome Kincaid; a sister, Clara Hawkins.

She was the owner of L & P Package Convenience Store. She attended Fleming Chapel and Sleeply Hollow Baptist Church. She was an active member in her Sunday school class. She loved gardening and listening to blue grass music at the mall.

Survivors include her daughters, Cynthia Mills and husband Steve of Lenoir, Gayle Risk and husband John of Pittsboro, NC; a brother, Roy L. Kincaid and wife Nellie of Lenoir; a sister, Johnsie Parron of Elizabeth City, NC; four grandchildren, Bryan Brett, Anthony Brett, T. J. Church, Sean Church and one great grandchild, Joshua Church; and numerous nephews and nieces.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, August 27th, 2011 at 5:00 p.m. at Blue Ridge Memorial Park with Reverend Lester Honson officiating. The family will receive friends at Pendry’s Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Serving as pallbearers will be Bryan Brett, Anthony Brett, T. J. Church, Sean Church, Danny Kincaid and Johnnie Miller. Honorary pallbearer will be David Hall.

The family requests that memorials be made to the Wounded Warriors Project 4899 Belfort Road Suite 300 Jacksonville, FL 32256 or to Sleepy Hollow Baptist Church.

Pendry’s Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Arney family.
