OBITUARY
Walter Hardin Adams
July 4, 1921 – March 6, 2011
Walter Hardin Adams, 89, of Wilkesboro died Sunday, March 06, 2011 at Avante Nursing Home in Wilkesboro.
Mr. Adams was born July 4, 1921 in Wilkes County to the late Philmore Adams and Daisy Adams. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved grandmother who raised him, Mary Elizabeth Adams; and his wife, Joyce Louise Nelson Adams. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during WWII, retired from Shurpac and a member of Yadkin Baptist Church. He was an avid Nascar Racing fan and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his sons, Eddie Adams and wife Sandra of Lenoir and Mark Adams and wife Debbie of Granite Falls; his daughter, Peggy Hoyle and husband Ted of Granite Falls; a brother, Julius Ray Adams of Taylorsville; sisters, Francis McMahan of Wilkesboro, Ettis Griffin of Boomer, Gladys Lane of Moravian Falls, Virginia Lowe of Boomer and Shirley Bowman of Boomer. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, March 10, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Yadkin Baptist Church with Reverend Robert Livingston and Reverend Robert Hoyle officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Serving as pallbearers will be Christian Hoyle, Robert Hoyle, Ted Hoyle, Jr, Michael Hoyle, Tim Adams, Darren Adams and Casey Adams.
The family respectfully requests that memorials be made to Yadkin Baptist Church, P O Box 37, Patterson, NC 28661.

Walt was the only Grandfather I knew in my life .I was honored to be his first Grandson and I am happy just to know that he is with Grandmother and they will never have to be apart again. Love you Grandpaw always.

Walt Adams was a special person and was always ready to help people in the community. I will always have a special place in my heart for Walter Adams.
