Mr. William Albert Saner
January 21, 1935 – September 2, 2019
Mr. William Albert Saner went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 2, 2019 at Grace Hospital in Morganton, North Carolina.
He was born on January 21, 1935 in Wilkes County to the late Louis Saner and Georgie Barnes Saner. Mr. Saner was a former member and Sunday School Superintendent of St. Paul A.M.E. Church in Lenoir. He was strong, kind-hearted, firm in his beliefs, hard-working, and most of all loved.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Judy Ann Saner; brothers, Avery Gwyn Saner and Lewis Jeremiah Saner; and two grandchildren, Timothy Saner and Rainbow Smith.
Mr. Saner is survived by his wife, Mrs. Joan Pearson Saner of Morganton; sons William Timothy Saner of Lenoir, Donald Eugene Saner and wife Betsy of Hickory and Albert Michaux of Kernersville; daughters, Barbara Saner of Lenoir, Mary Saner of Lenoir, and Wendy Low and husband David of Maryland; extended family which include his step children; sisters, Berline Saner of Raleigh, Naomi Barnes of Tennessee, Annie Saner Carlton of Moravian Falls, and Lisa Meekins of Raleigh; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 9, 2019 at Pendry’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Hayes officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Interment will immediately follow the funeral service at Blue Ridge Memorial Park in Lenoir.

Prayers for the family. I worked with William at Harpers. He was a very kind and caring person. He always took the time to answer your question no matter how busy he was. William was well liked by every one at Harpers. He did not sugar coat any question a person had. Not many people like that left these days. God Bless you all.

William was a man of faith who took good care of everyone he came in contact with. Most of all my mother.
