

Mrs. Beane was born in Caldwell County to the late Thomas Oscar Brown and Reila Medlock Brown. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Joe Brookshire, Bill Camp and John Beane; step-sons John “Buck” Beane and Johnny Camp; sisters, Ocie Brown Crunkleton, Mozelle Brown Turner, Gladys Brown Hartley and Tressie Brown Pennell; brothers, Lon Brown and J. C. Pennell. She worked in the textile industry and was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son Tom Oscar Brookshire and wife Vicki of Lenoir; her daughter Joanne Brookshire Price and husband Jack of Lenoir; step-children, Reba Beane Whisnant of Lenoir, Linda Beane Miller of Lenoir and Richard Camp of Landrum, SC; a granddaughter Melinda Price of Lenoir; step-grandchildren, Tony Beane and Jody Beane of Lenoir; great grandchildren, David Smith and Jack Smith of Lenoir; a sister, Katherine Brown Hicks Alexander of Lenoir; numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Monday, October 6, 2014 in Pendry’s Chapel at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Sam Craven officiating. Burial will follow at Sardis Cemetery in Hudson. The family will receive friends prior to the service at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
