Annie Janice Sanders Emory

Graveside services for Annie Janice Sanders Emory, 81, of Sundown, Texas will be at 2:00 pm, Thursday, November 16, 2011 in Sundown Cemetery with Rev. Gil Ramirez, pastor, Park Drive Baptist Church, Levelland, officiating. Burial will be under direction of George Price Funeral Home, Levelland, Texas. She died Monday, November 14, 2011 in Lubbock, Texas.

She was born on November 20, 1929 in McKinney, Texas to Henry Duel and Laura Elizabeth Riley Sanders. She graduated from McKinney High School and took some accounting classes at South Plains College after moving to Sundown. She worked as a Director of TV for 17 years with KRIS Channel 6 TV in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was a courier for Sundown State Bank for ten years and also the Janitorial service for the same bank as well before retiring. She was a homemaker and a mother first. She loved her children and grandchildren and great grandchildren and was always there to talk to and always did anything she could to help them. She was a member of the South Staples Baptist Church in Corpus Christi, Texas. Annie married Travis Harold Emory on August 28, 1948 in Henrietta, Texas and he preceded her in death on April 22, 2002.

She is survived by her children, Johney Emory and his wife Anna, and Andy Emory and his wife Erica, all of Lubbock, Texas and Gloria Studdard and her husband Ron from Sundown, Texas; her grandchildren; Jodie Yeoman Boatright and her husband, Chris, Aaron Emory and Haylee Emory, all of Lubbock, Texas; Rhonda Rice and her husband, Michael of Sundown, Tony Emory of Los Angeles, California; Chris Emory and wife, Kristi of Centerville, Texas; Laura Emory of New Orleans, Louisiana; William Emory and his wife Shauna of San Diego, California; her great- grandchildren; Jace Crider and Daryne Yeoman, both of Lubbock, Texas; Chad Bilbrey, Thomas Bilbrey,Paul Varner Rice and Caitlyn Rice all of Sundown, Texas, Brayden Emory and Travis Emory, both of Centerville, Texas.
