Billy D. Turrentine

Funeral services for Billy D. Turrentine, 81, of Levelland will be 3:00 pm, Tuesday, July 27, 2010 in George Price Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ruby Moultrie, pastor, First United Methodist Church, Brownfield, officiating. Burial will be in City of Levelland Cemetery under direction of George Price Funeral Home, Levelland, Texas. He died Sunday, July 25, 2010 in Lubbock. The family will receive visitors from 5 – 7 pm Monday, July 26, 2010 at the funeral home.

He was born on November 19, 1928 in Slaton, Texas to J.A. and Mattie Pirtle Turrentine. He graduated Levelland High School in 1946. He joined the Western Company in 1953 and moved to Seagraves in 1956, where he was District Manager and then moved to Brownfield in 1980 where he was District Manager. He worked for Serfco for 10 years and then started Western Acidizing Company in Levelland. In Seagraves, he served on the School Board for 10 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister: Pauline Cookston, and two brothers; Alton Turrentine and Raymond Turrentine.

Survivors include his wife: Bebe Jo Turrentine of Levelland, Texas; two sons: David Turrentine of Midland, Texas; and Tony Turrentine and his wife , Rexann of Brownfield, Texas; his daughter; Judy Cathey and her husband Billy Joe of Carlsbad, New Mexico; ten grandchildren: Brian Turrentine of Horseshoe Bay, Texas; Barbee Condit of Austin, Jodi Lofton of Carlsbad, NM; Jennifer Shulse of Cypress, TX, Jerrike Cathey and Jordan Cathey, both of Carlsbad, NM Toni Ann Turrentine of Lubbock, TX; Whitney Turrentine of Tyler, Texas; Kim George and Mika Law , both of Lubbock, TX and twelve great-grandchildren.
