Don Lummus

Funeral services for Don Lummus, 69, of Sundown, Texas will be at 10:00 am, Saturday, November 2, 2013 at Sundown Church of Christ, with Randy Winfrey, officiating. Burial will be in Sundown Cemetery under the direction of George Price Funeral Home. He died Saturday, October 26, 2013 in Lubbock. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Friday, November 1, 2013 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.

Don was born on February 17, 1944 in Levelland, Texas to Awbrey and Olivia Jane (Smith)

Lummus. He was a lifelong resident of Hockley County, Texas. After graduation from high school he went to work in the oilfied and worked as a pumper for Great Western. He then worked at Walmart for approximately 17 years before retiring. He married Miki Dawson on January 16, 1968. Don was a U. S. Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Miki Lummus of Sundown, Texas, two daughters Rachael Chance of Levelland, Texas and Selena Lummus of Sundown, Texas, three brothers : Herb Lummus, Ken Lummus, and Gerald Lummus, all of Silo, Oklahoma and six grandchildren.
