Funeral Services for Edgar Eugene Russell, 90, of Levelland will be 11:00 am, Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at First Baptist Church, Levelland with Dr. Sammy Elliott and Dr. Brian Hill, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens, Levelland, Texas. He died Sunday, December 27, 2009 in Levelland.Born on March 16, 1919 in Hereford, Texas to Walter Clyde and Carrie Mable Nusbaum Russell, he graduated Hereford High School in 1937. He married Odessa (Dess) Cockrell on December 8, 1937 in Clovis, New Mexico. He worked for the Soil Conservation Service in Plainview, Texas and then was transferred to Levelland, Texas. He went to work for Texas Electric and worked there for 32 years. He was a World War II veteran , having served in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Russell was a member of First Baptist Church, Levelland since 1948.Survivors include his wife, Dess Russell of Levelland, Texas; his daughter: Bettye Stafford and her husband, Don of Whitharral, Texas; his grandsons: Brad Stafford and his wife, Mary of Navasota and Mike Stafford and his wife, Amie of Levelland, Texas; his great grandchildren: Kayla and Kyle Stafford and Curt, Matt, Mahalie and Maddie Stafford.Please join us in celebrating Edgar’s life by visiting his memorial at www.georgepricefunerals.com.
