

Emma Josephine Powell of Levelland, TX. went to be with her Lord on Sunday, February 6, 2011 in Booker, TX. She had lived the past nine years in Houston, TX. and a short time in Booker, TX. before passing peacefully from this life to her eternal home in Heaven.
Services will be Friday, February 11, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Levelland, TX. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery in Lubbock, TX.
There will be a visitation on Thursday, February 10 at George Price Funeral Home in Levelland, TX. from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Mrs. Powell was born on June 7, 1915, the daughter of William and Nellie (Partin) Austin. She married Connie H. Powell in May, 1932.Connie and Emma moved to Levelland in 1965. Emma learned to sew for her family. Emma was fond of her flower and rose gardens. She taught Sunday School for many years. Her greatest love besides her husband was taking care of her kids and grandkids. She also enjoyed being a school chaperone on school trips. Emma would introduce herself as “ I’m Emma Powell from Levelland, Texas and I’m the mother of my children.”
Survivors include: one son, Richard V. Powell and wife, Charline of Osceola, MO., four daughters: Connie June Dickerson of Casa Grande, AZ., Patricia Ann Baldridge and husband, Jerry Bob of Beaver OK., Sandra Gail Davis and husband, Scott, of Houston, TX., Tammie Jo Furdon and husband, John of Dallas, TX., one sister, Margaret Watts of Pheonix, AZ., three brothers: Partin Austin and wife, Norma of Shawnee, OK., Donis Austin and wife, Mozelle of Spring, TX., and Donal Austin of Lubbock, TX., fifteen grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren and fifteen great-great grandchildren. She was preceeded by her parents, her husband, Connie, six brothers, five sisters, and one grandson.
