Fred C. Ward

Visitation will be Saturday, January 5, 2019, from 1:00pm to 1:45pm at George Price Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2018, at 2:00pm at Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Chaplain Elizabeth Holder officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Services are under the compassionate care of George Price Funeral Home.

Fred was born to Louis C. Ward and Effie Marie (Capers) Ward on April 8, 1936 in Hill County, TX. He grew up in Peoria & Hillsboro, TX, where he went to school and worked on the family farm. Fred moved to West Texas in 1955. In 1983, he married Carolyn Ward who preceded him in death. Fred owned and operated M&W Well Service, Technical Testing, and FCW Trucking throughout his lifetime. With these companies, he split his career between oilfield services and the cotton industry. Fred was a member of the Shriners Society and a 32nd degree Freemason. His passions included fishing, hunting, flying his plane, and racing, playing with his pets, working, and spending time with his family.

Fred is preceded in death by his parents; Louis C. & Effie Marie Ward, Wife; Carolyn Ward, Sister; Louise Golden, Son; Sean Ward, Grandsons; Jon David Charters and Michael Ward.

Those left to cherish his memory are five daughters; Kelly Caffrey & husband Ray of Tennessee, Shanna Ward of Indianapolis, Shelly Gradiska &husband Wayne of Abilene, Donna Morgan & husband Larry of Oklahoma, Debra Bramlett & husband Hugh of Levelland, Three Sons; Carlton (Red) Ward of Washington, Doug Charters & wife Dee of Brownfield, Dusty Charters & wife Kelly of Levelland, Three brothers; Tommy Ward & wife Elaine of Meridian, Darrell Ward & wife Patricia of Cleburne, and Bobby Ward & wife Ann of Hillsboro. He was also blessed with nineteen grandchildren and thirty great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donating to one of Fred’s most loved charities, St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. 262 Danny Thomas Pl., Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
