

Jack Clayton Williams died July 8, 2013 in his home. Funeral services will be Friday, July 12, 2013 at 11:00 am in George Price Funeral Home Chapel, Levelland with Rev. Rusty Dickerson, officiating. Burial will be in City of Levelland Cemetery under direction of George Price Funeral Home, Levelland. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home Thursday, July 11, 2013 rom 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm
He was born on September 22, 1924 in Crowell, Texas to Earnest Mason and Leona (Cock) Williams. He graduated from Texas Tech in January 1949. He served as a paratrooper in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was a teacher, football and track coach in Grandfalls, Texas for several years before joining Phillips Petroleum. He retired after 30 years with Phillips.
Jack enjoyed reading, walking, traveling and spending time in the mountains of Ruidoso. One of his best enjoyed trips was the Honor Flight to the World War II National Monument in Washington, D. C. He married Fay Bagley on June 13, 1992 in Hobbs, New Mexico.
Survivors include his wife, Fay of the home his sons: Robert M. Williams and wife Flossie of Granbury, TX; Joe Williams, his stepsons; Clifford M. Armes and wife Vickie of Midland, Morris G. Armes, Levelland, Texas, his daughters: Rebecca Matthews of Lubbock; Cynthia Williams of Levelland; his step daughters: Linda Hensley of Levelland; and Katherine Ponder and husband Joe of Hobbs, NM; a brother, Jerry Williams and wife Billie of Amarillo; a sister Betty Harris of Pampa; his uncles : Kent Cox, Sr. and wife Dorothy and Cullen Cox and wife Dolores; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earnest and Leona Williams; his father in law: Lonnie Tarrant and mother in law: Lora Tarrant of Oklahoma and his previous wife: Joyce Purdy Williams.
