Funeral services for Janelle Trimmier Bridges, 89, of Levelland will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, January 29, 2011 at First United Methodist Church, Levelland with Rev. Rusty Dickerson, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Sundown Cemetery under direction of George Price Funeral Home, Levelland, Texas. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 6:00 pm until 8:00pm, Friday, January 28, 2011. She died Monday, January 24, 2011 in Lubbock.
Born on June 29, 1921 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Joe Price and Jamie Tooley Trimmier, she graduated from Benjamin High School at the age of 16. She married George Joseph (Joe) Bridges on December 18, 1938 in Lubbock. Janelle kept books for her husband’s business, B & B garage in Sundown for more than 30 years. She was a founding member of the World War II Memorial in Washington, D. C.
She was preceeded in death by both her parents, her older brother, Joe Price Trimmier, Jr. and, on August 31, 1985, by her husband of 46 years.
Survivors include: her son: Joe M. Bridges and his wife, Sally of Houston, Texas; two daughters: Patricia Anne Bridges Tubb and her husband, Dick of Levelland, Texas; and Peggy Jan Bridges of Decatur, Georgia; two grandchildren: Jennifer Bridges Darwin and her husband, Todd and Elizabeth Bridges Cozby and her husband, Drew, all of Houston, Texas; five great grandchildren; Mary Elizabeth Darwin, Emily Marie Darwin, Joe Wilson Cozby, Sarah Gleith Cozby and Merritt Elizabeth Cozby all of Houston, Texas; her sister: Sue Kay Trimmier Reeder of Arlington, Texas;
her niece, Julie Owens of Arlington, Texas; her nephew: Robert Trimmier and his wife: Mary of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and her great nieces: Salina Owens of Arlington, Texas; Miranda Trimmier and Margaret Trimmier, both of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Pallbearers will be: Todd B. Darwin and Andrew J. Cozby, and Joe W. Cozby, Joe Tubb and Lyndall Couch, Mack Tubb, Chad Tubb and Britt Spears .
