

The brilliant light that radiated from Jay Derek Lee, 26, of Lubbock was dimmed when the Lord called him home Friday, September 20, 2013. Services will be at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at College Avenue Baptist Church, Levelland with Rev. Tim Smith officiating. Burial will be in City of Levelland Cemetery under direction of George Price Funeral Home, Levelland. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. He died Friday, September 20, 2013 in Oklahoma.
Born on January 27, 1987 in Lubbock, Texas to Jack and Sharon (Smith) Lee, he attended and graduated from Levelland High School in 2005. He then attended South Plains College and Texas Tech University. Derek was employed by Gray Wireline Services.
Survivors include his parents: Jack and Sharon Lee of Levelland, a brother: Landon Lee and two sisters: Lindsey Lee of Levelland and Stacey Lee of Siloam Springs, Arkansas, his grandparents: the late J.C. and Dorothy Smith of Levelland and Gene Tunney and Adabell Lee of Paden, Oklahoma, his many friends and his Gray Wireline Family. His love of life and his big, gentle heart will always be be missed and held dear by all those he loved so much and who loved him in return.
