Jo Nell Poteet

Jo Nell Poteet passed away in Lubbock on Friday, January 2, 2015. She was born on December 16, 1944 in Bryan, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Newton and Nell Poteet of Levelland. She is survived by two sons Hank (LaNeigh) Hudson of Austin and James Joshua Hudson of Austin; three grandchildren, Hal Henry Hudson III, Holden Blake Hudson and Hadley Elizabeth Hudson; and one sister Danette (Ledlie) Powell of Oklahoma City. Jo Nell graduated from Levelland High School in 1963 and attended Texas Tech, earning a Bachelor degree in Education in 1979. She taught in New Deal and Levelland Public Schools for several years, teaching English and History. She was passionate about family history and genealogy, and was an active member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy and Daughters of the American Revolution.. A visitation will be held at George Price Funeral Home from 6-8PM on Wednesday, January 7, 2015. Services for Jo Nell will be at 2PM on Thursday, January 8, 2015 in the George Price Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the City of Levelland Cemetery.
