J.T. Rackler

J.T. was born April 5, 1927 to G.C. and Minnie Elizabeth Hill Rackler in Southland, TX. He married Betty Hayslip on December 25, 1947. J.T. served on the Board of Directors at Center Point Gin, Hockley County Livestock Association and a member of Catus Drive Church of Christ for many years. He also farmed in Hockley County until his retirement in 1991. After retirement, J. T. enjoyed fishing, raising goats and playing with his grandkids and great-grandkids.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Betty in 2006; daughter Barbara Gail Rackler in 1952 and a son Larry Don Rackler in 2011; his siblings J. D. Rackler, Kenneth Rackler, Carl Rackler, Opal Knapp and Dorothy Rackler.

Survivors include his son Bobby Wayne Rackler and wife, Norma and his daughter Debra Ann Land all of Levelland; brothers, Odell Rackler and L.H. Rackler; sisters, Aline Trammell and Lois (Lloyd) Hopper; grandchildren, Jason and Brett Rackler, Drew DeArmond and his wife Carrie and Ty Land and his wife, Amy; his great-grandchildren, Cassidi, Trace, Ky, and Kale, Ty, Klay and Crockett.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to New Mexico Christian Children’s Home, Portales, New Mexico, Bayer Museum of Agriculture, 1121 Canyon Lake Dr., Lubbock, TX, 79403 or a charity of your choice.
