Funeral services for Annie Lajune Hughes Hale, 86, of Levelland will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 26, 2015, in the George Price Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Michael J. Holmes officiating. Interment will be in the City of Levelland Cemetery under the direction of George Price Funeral Home. Visitation will be Saturday, September 26, 2015, from 9-11 a.m. at the funeral home. She passed away surrounded by her family on September 20, 2015. Mrs. Hale was born on October 13, 1928 to the late Thomas Bethel and Eula Mae (Jones) Hughes in Winters, Texas. She was the eldest of 6 children. As a child, her father was a rancher and a business man which led her to live in many places throughout her childhood. She met Noil Edwin Hale during her senior year in high school and they later wed in Matador, Texas in 1948. The couple had 2 sons, Jesse Edwin and Paul Alan. Following her husband’s work in the oil industry, the family lived in Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, and Wyoming before settling in Levelland in 1960. Mrs. Hale was a substitute teacher for Levelland ISD for several years and enjoyed working for the Census Bureau. She also sold Avon and was a Cub Scout Leader. She enjoyed cooking, reading, fishing, spending time with her family, and had a fascination with family history. Her many talents included playing piano, sewing, and painting. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Eula Mae Hughes; husband, Noil Edwin Hale; brother, Mike Hughes; sister, Dana Bontke; and son, Paul Hale. She is survived by her son, Jesse and Darlys Hale of Levelland; daughter-in-law, Diane Hale De Luna of Levelland; granddaughters, Jennifer Franklin and husband Marlon of Bushland, Texas, Jackie Garrett and husband Randall of Benbrook Texas, Jillian Hale and husband Daniel Smith of Lubbock, Texas, and Katherine Hale of Levelland; great-grandsons, Cannon and Callan Garrett; sisters, Bonnie Ayers and husband Ralph of Lubbock, Texas and Susie Karrh and husband Robert of Amarillo, Texas; brother, Bill Hughes and wife Bobbie of Paris, Texas.
