Mae A. Wallace Dempsey

Funeral Services for Mae Dempsey, 102, of Levelland will be Friday, May 13, 2011 at 2:00 pm at the Second Baptist Church in Levelland with Reverend Jerry Howe officiating. Services are under direction of George Price Funeral Home, Levelland. She died Sunday, May 8, 2011 at her residence in Levelland, Texas.

Mae was born on June 20, 1908, the daughter of John and Nora Bell (Sutton) Wallace. She attended Levelland Schools. She married JT “Jake” Dempsey in Clovis, New Mexico on September 5, 1957. Mae was a member of Second Baptist Church in Levelland. She was employed at Bob’s Shoe Store for twenty years. She was a member of the Rebecca Lodge #5 here in Levelland.

She is survived by one son: Wayne “Rusty” Dempsey of Levelland, two daughters: Talitha Gobal and Larrie Ann Austin, both of Levelland, seven grandchildren: Hollie Mills, Trace Austin, Brittany Dempsey, Traci Reust, Kathy May, Natalie Cruz, Renee Harlan, and fourteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jake Dempsey in 1987, two daughters: Bessie Lee Davis, and Anna Marie Dennison, and one grandson, Stacy Austin.
