Pearl Alma Croft Self

Pearl Self of Levelland, Texas departed this life on Friday, May 13, 2011. Services with be Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at the Fifth Street Church of Christ at 1 p.m. with Bryan Patterson and Steve Sanders officiating. Burial will follow in the City of Levelland Cemetery.

She was born on December 5, 1919, the daughter of Tom and Cora (Turner) Self. She graduated from Floydada High School. She was a telephone operator for many years before her retirement. She married Dale Self on June 10, 1937 in Floydada, Texas. She enjoyed gardening, Quilting and she was an excellent seamstress. She was a member of the Church of Christ and never missed a service. She cooked to live, and enjoyed doing so for her family. Pearl had the artistic ability to apply paint to canvas and produce an exceptional painting.

She is survived by her son Fred Self and wife Dee of Spring, TX, daughter Pam Sanders and husband Jerry of Levelland, TX. Grandchildren include: Anita Kief and husband Robert of Missouri City, TX, Kenny Self and wife Debbie of Ft. Worth, TX, Robyn Patterson and husband Bryan of Amherst, TX, and Steve Sanders and wife Kristy of Levelland, TX., nine great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
