

Peggy Jean Kitchens Thoms Dean, 83, of Levelland, passed peacefully from this life and into her heavenly home on Monday, January 12, 2015, at Manor Park, Midland, Texas. Peggy was born in Levelland, Texas January 18, 1931. She graduated from the Pettit school system and also took classes at South Plains College. She retired from the Levelland Independent School System after numerous years as the manager of Cactus Elementary cafeteria. She worked many years as a seamstress for Malouf’s Department Store. She was a member of the Bethel Church. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and spending time with her family, extended family and friends. Peggy is shadowed in death by her son, Max Thoms. Preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Bes-sie Kitchens; two brothers, Cleo and Gene Kitchens; and two sisters, Edna Grubbs and Laura Davis; and her late husbands Morris Thoms and J.C. Dean. Those left to cherish her memory include daughter, Sabrina (Bobby) Smith of Mid-land; son, Brian (Cindy) Thoms of Levelland; two grandsons, Cody (Tabatha) Thoms of Amarillo; Austin (Ashton) Thoms of Sundown; two granddaughters, Natalie Thoms of Midland; and Alli Thoms of Levelland; one great-grandson, Tyler Thoms of Amarillo, adopted granddaughter Ali Chandler of Midland; and God grand-daughter, Rayli Robinson of Lubbock. Survived by her brothers, Bo (Betty) Kitchens of Phoenix, AZ, and Roy Kitchens of Azle, Texas; as well by numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at George Price Funeral Home in Levelland on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 form 6-8PM. Services will be held in the George Price Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, January 15, 2015 at 2PM. Memorial donations can be made to the Levelland Christian School or West Texas Church at the Barn, Lubbock, Texas.
