Rhonda Sharon Bird

Rhonda Sharon Bird passed away Saturday, November 22, 2014 at her home in Levelland, Texas. Rhonda was born March 23, 1960 in Plainview, Texas to Mitchell Lee and Berta (Brown) Abbe. She graduated from Morton High School in 1978 and attended South Plains College. Rhonda married the love of her life Phillip Bird on December 30, 1978 in Morton, Texas. Rhonda worked for 25 years at Levelland State Bank as a bookkeeper, teller and teller supervisor; and at AIM Bank as a lending assistant. She attended the Cactus Drive Church of Christ. Rhonda enjoyed spending time and relaxing in Ruidoso, New Mexico. Her greatest joy in the last year was spending time with her grandson, Hunter. Rhonda is survived by her Mother Berta Abbe of Levelland; Husband Phil of Levelland; son Brian and wife Connie, and precious grandson Hunter of Wolfforth; brothers Mayland (Mary) Abbe of Levelland, LaMell (Linda) Abbe of Lubbock, and Mike (Allene) Abbe of Lubbock. Also surviving are 3 nieces, 7 nephews, 14 great-nieces and great-nephews. Rhonda was preceded in death by her father, M.L. Abbe. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 6-8PM at George Price Funeral Home. Services for Rhonda will be held Wednesday at 10AM at Cactus Drive Church of Christ with interment in the City of Levelland Cemetery.
