

Andrew C. Herman of Levittown died on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 91.Born in Wilkes Barre and raised in Buttonwood, PA, Mr. Herman attended Hanover Township Memorial High School. He has resided in Levittown for the past 60 years where he was an original homeowner and member of St. Michael the Archangel parish.Mr. Herman was employed with Gould's Auto Parts on New Falls Road for 25 years until retiring in 1996.Mr. Herman was a proud member of the First Catholic Slovak Union where he was elected to the Supreme Court in 1988 and became the Region 2 Director in 1991. He had continued to sell First Catholic Slovak Union Life Insurance up until the time of his death. Mr. Herman was very passionate about presenting all of the children in the First Catholic Slovak Union a gift every Christmas.Andrew was an avid bowler and was proud to have bowled a 709 series. He had run many bowling tournaments and remained active for as long as he was able. He also enjoyed golfing and gardening.Mr. Herman is the loving and devoted husband of Alice V. (Sukosky) for over 69 years.He is the loving father of Andrea Hutt, David Herman, Kenneth Herman (Jill), Janet Herman and Jill Herman; the proud Poppy of 10 grandchildren and Big Poppy of 12 great grandchildren.Andrew was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew J. and Mary V. (Filipovicz) Herman; his brother, George Herman and sisters, Marie Shumoski and Agatha Viti. He is survived by his brother, Joseph Herman; sisters, Helen Pojunis, Eleanor James, Carol Ann Yozviak and Frances Herman as well as many nieces and nephews.Family and friends are invited to call from 8:30 until 10 a.m. on Monday at St. Michael the Archangel Church, 66 Levittown Parkway, Levittown where his funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Rite of Committal will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery.
