Born on November 1, 1955, in Ashland, Pennsylvania, Ann lived a life marked by passion, conviction, and deep devotion to the people and causes she loved. Ann began her professional journey with Conrail CSX Railroad in 1973, where she built a long and dedicated career. Her work ethic and commitment were evident throughout her tenure, culminating in her retirement in 2004 after more than three decades of service. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Ann was a woman of vibrant interests and unwavering principles. She had a profound love for the outdoors, often found hiking wooded trails or kayaking peaceful waters. Her connection to nature extended to her deep affection for animals, particularly dogs. A passionate advocate for dog rescue and training, Ann was involved in agility and barn hunt activities, dedicating her time and energy to improving the lives of countless animals. Music was another cornerstone of Ann’s life. She had a special fondness for classic rock and cherished attending concerts that brought her joy and connection. Whether enjoying live music or sharing meals at fine restaurants, she embraced life’s pleasures with enthusiasm. Family was central to Ann’s world. She is survived by her beloved son, Adam; her cherished grandchildren, Tyler McManus, Maggie Harrison, and Aidan McManus; and her devoted sister, Dorothy Renihan. She also leaves behind nieces Aubrey McDonald, Katie McDonald, and Hope McManus. Her parents, Raymond and Dorothy McManus, and her brother, Raymond McManus, preceded her in death. Ann’s fierce love for her family was matched only by her strong convictions. Known for speaking her mind and standing firm in what she believed, she inspired those around her with her authenticity and strength of character. She especially treasured time spent with her grandchildren, often attending hockey games together—moments that brought her immense pride and happiness.
