Anna M. Sauppe

Anna M. Sauppe of Levittown died on Monday, July 9, 2018. She was 92.Born and raised in Stony Creek Mills, PA, she was an original Levittown homeowner since 1952.Anna was a graduate of Mt. Penn High School where she was very athletic and active on their softball, volleyball and basketball teams. She also enjoyed swimming and horseback riding in earlier years.After high school, she worked as an Executive Assistant at H. Oritski and Company in Reading, PA.Anna married her husband Donald in 1946 and had three sons soon after. Mrs. Sauppe spent 23 years as a Navy wife while her husband served as a Chief Petty Officer.She always enjoyed time at the shore and cherished the countless cross country family road trips to various national parks. Many treasured memories were made during their travels!She was an avid Philadelphia sports fan and was also a nature lover who enjoyed bird watching in her back yard.Beloved wife of the late Donald J. Sauppe and mother of the late Barry and Larry Sauppe, she is survived by her loving son, Kevin Sauppe and his wife, Hope, of Levittown; devoted daughters-in-law, Eileen Sauppe of Eureka, CA and Josie Sauppe of Forest, VA; grandchildren, Jakob (Elizabeth), Geordon, James and Anthony; and great grandson, Dylan.Sister of the late Marion "Skeetz" Wentzel and Eleanor Wentzel Shaver, she will also be missed by several nieces and nephews.Family and friends are invited to call from 6 until 7 p.m. on Sunday at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown where her funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Friends are also invited to assemble on the parking lot of the funeral home at 9:45 a.m. on Monday for a procession to Forest Hills Memorial Park in Reading, PA where a graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Friends of Silver Lake Nature Center, 1306 Bath Road, Bristol, PA 19007.
