

Anne S. Sweeney of Bensalem passed away on Friday, March 3, 2017 at her home. She was 93.Born and raised in the Kensington section of Philadelphia, Mrs. Sweeney has resided in Bensalem for the past 50 years where she was a founding member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton parish.She worked as a bookkeeper for the U.S. Navy for over 20 years until retiring.Anne loved traveling and especially enjoyed trips to Europe and Spain. She also liked to take cruises and trips to the casinos.Beloved wife of the late Edward G. Sweeney, Mrs. Sweeney is survived by her loving children, Anne S. Rebar (Brian), Edward "Michael" Sweeney (Patricia), William J. Sweeney (Diana) and Raymond L. Sweeney (Joanne).She was the devoted grandmother of Patti Polk, Mark and Jack Rebar, Michael and Stephen Sweeney, Katie Piwonski, Gregory Sweeney, Stephanie Pennucci and Patrick Sweeney and the great grandmother of 5.Family and friends are invited to attend her funeral Mass at 12 noon on Thursday at Queen of the Universe Church, 2443 Trenton Rd., Levittown followed by Rite of Committal at Resurrection Cemetery. There are no calling hours prior to the Mass.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Chandler Hall, 99 Barclay St., Newtown, PA 18940.
