

Anthony F. Zaya, Sr., age 90, formerly of Levittown died on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at Homeland Nursing Home, Harrisburg. Born in Everett, Massachusetts, Anthony had been a resident of Levittown for 55 years. He was a Technical Sergeant with the U.S. Army during World War II serving in North Africa and Europe as a Court Reporter and later as a Personnel Sergeant Major. A graduate of Fisher College in Boston, Massachusetts, Anthony worked at Quonset Point, Rhode Island and McGuire Air Force Base, NJ as an aircraft mechanic and at the Naval Supply Depot in Philadelphia as an Engineering and Equipment Specialist retiring in August 1979. He was a member of the Bristol Township Senior Center and RSVP and was also a member of St. Michael the Archangel parish. Anthony was the beloved husband of 65 years to Yolanda M. Zaya (nee Alonzo). He was the loving father of Anthony F. Zaya Jr. of Lititz, PA, Theresa A. Briggs of Levittown, Mary M. Mullin of Mechanicsburg, PA, Joseph D. Zaya of Quarryville, PA and Linda L. Keddie of Levittown, PA. He will also be sadly missed by 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, his sister Sarah Zaya of Wakefield, Mass., and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, December 15th from 8:30 until 9:30 a.m. at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, 10:00 am at Saint Michael the Archangel Church followed by Rite of Committal in Our Lady of Grace Cemetery.
