Arthur W. Marquess

Arthur W. (Arty) Marquess died suddenly at his home in Trevose on Saturday, August 11, 2012. He was 38. A Trevose resident for 34 years, Arty was a 1992 graduate of Bensalem High School. He wore #44 as a member of the varsity basketball team, loved playing golf and basketball and was an avid Eagles fan. He was an electrician who worked in building maintenance with the Montgomery County Housing Authority. He was also a member of Local 107. Arty was the beloved husband of 12 years to Carrie Ann Marquess (nee Johnson) and the loving father of Abigail and Devon. In addition he is survived by his parents Arthur B. Jr. and Carol Anne Horton Marquess. He will also be sadly missed by his brother and sisters: Anne Marie Spano (nee Marquess), her husband Anthony, Matthew (Danielle) Marquess, and Mary-Kate Cellmer (nee Marquess) and her husband Trent; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, and his in-laws, the Johnson family. Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 9:00 pm and on Friday morning from 9:00 to 10:15 am at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, PA 19056. His funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Grace Church, 225 S. Bellevue Avenue, Penndel. Rite of Committal will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to benefit the Marquess children would be appreciated by his family.
