Carol Bernice Conn passed away peacefully on November 4, 2025, at the age of 99. Born on April 4, 1926, she was raised in Somerton, Philadelphia, and was a resident of Levittown for 73 years. Carol lived a life defined by compassion, generosity, and love for others.
A 1944 graduate of Olney High School, Carol went on to earn her nursing degree from Temple University in 1948, and she proudly served as a member of the U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps. Her lifelong commitment to caring for others led her to a fulfilling career in nursing, serving in hospitals across Iowa, Indiana, and Pennsylvania. Her dedication, skill, and empathy left a lasting mark on all those she cared for.
Carol was married for 67 wonderful years to her late husband, Harry J. Conn, with whom she built a life filled with love, laughter, and family. She was the devoted mother of her late son, Michael R. Conn (Paulette), and her son Kevin D. Conn (Leslie). Carol was a proud nana to Liane Conn (Rich) and Dylan Conn, and a loving grand nana to Salem, Quinn, and Atlas. She was also the daughter of the late George Stein and Bessie Clymer Stein, and the cherished sister of her late siblings, Eleanor Collie (Jim) and Betty Weston (Rod).
Carol’s life was rich with friendships, family gatherings, and creative pursuits. She treasured summers spent in Ocean City and Stone Harbor, New Jersey, and was an active member of the Makefield Lakes Garden Club, the Historic Morrisville Society, and her local bridge club. A talented craftswoman, Carol’s creativity and warmth brightened the lives of those around her. She was also a nurturing presence to many nieces and nephews, who lovingly considered her a second mother.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to those who helped Carol remain comfortably in her home during her later years – the Coia family, Wayne Dresing, Mark Russell, Doreen Moran, Shannon Kirst, and her many Right at Home aides.
A memorial gathering to celebrate Carol’s life will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2025, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, Pennsylvania. She will be laid to rest privately alongside Harry at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Rd, Newtown, PA 18940.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carol’s memory to the Temple University Nursing Scholarship Fund.
