Carol A. Kliesh

December 7, 1945 – September 12, 2024
Obituary of Carol A. Kliesh
IN THE CARE OF

James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc.

Carol Kliesh, age 78, originally of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, who served faithfully as a Home Depot associate for 15 years, cashed in her final chip on Thursday, September 12, 2024, leaving us with a treasury of memories and a jackpot of love.

Renowned among friends and family for her penchant for good-natured gambling, Carol was a familiar face at Parx Casino and in Atlantic City, where she found much joy in the art of chance, maintaining a playful claim that she ultimately "broke even in life."

Above all, Carol was a doting grandmother, whose greatest pleasure was spending time with her grandchildren. She took great delight in their company. Carol was all in, always ready to 'pick them up and take them away' whether on trips to local attractions such as Sesame Place, the various shorelines, or the zoo, making every outing an adventure replete with love and laughter.

A devoted homemaker and an exemplary mother, Carol placed her family at the forefront of her life, steadfastly prioritizing their well-being and happiness. Her skills as a hostess shone brightly during the holidays, particularly over the Christmas and Thanksgiving seasons, where her home became the heart of family celebrations. Carol's annual tradition of cutting down the Christmas tree with her loved ones, coupled with the shared laughter over "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation," became cherished memories held dear by all.

In the kitchen, Carol's legacy as a chef and baker of Italian cuisine is immortalized through her famous meatballs, touted as the "BEST MEATBALLS" which were famously declared as impossible to duplicate due to her intuitive and unmeasurable approach to ingredients. They will be missed by all who had the pleasure in life to enjoy them.

Carol is remembered by her children; Diana (George) Wallace and Mark (Jennifer) Petroski; and cherished grandchildren; Connor, Dylan, Devon, Cody. She is also survived by siblings: Gloria (Eric) Morris, Betsy (Frank) Fisher, Bill (Jackie) Bauso, Ed (Mary) Bauso, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Carol Kliesh's memory will endure in the traditions she established, the family she nurtured, and the joy she shared. A woman who knew that the real winnings were the laughter, the adventures, and the family gathered around the table. May her memory be a full house of joy, and may we all be inspired to keep playing the game with love, just as she did.
