Catherine R. EvertCatherine R. "Casey" Evert died peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at her son's home. She was 86.Born in Philadelphia, she became an original Levittowner, and took great pride in her community.Mrs. Evert lived a full life and was raised in a good family. She enjoyed schools and constantly learning. She graduated from Frankford High School in 1948.For 27 years, Mrs. Evert was employed as an executive secretary, 8 of those years spent at Thiokol. Mrs. Evert enjoyed sports and sang and danced on stage. She was a member of the chorus of the Delaware Valley Philharmonic for 3 years and did many concerts. Most memorable of them was the "Messiah".She served in the Navy Reserves for 3 1/2 years, and was a member of the USO at Pennypack Park. In later years she was the leader of T.O.P.S. 221 for 5 years.Casey is the much beloved wife of the late William C., who died in April of 2010.Her son Nicholas made sure Mom was doing good every day. His wife Diana Lynn was also always there to provide love and help with wonderful Sunday dinners and with Mom's walking.Mrs. Evert is also survived by her son, John and his wife, Lynn.She will also be sadly missed by her granddaughter and her constant joy, Nichole; great grandson, Aiden Nicholas Phy; step granddaughter, Claire Alscher; her brother, John "Fletch" Ford; and numerous extended family members.She was predeceased by her sister, Margaret "Peg" Tropio.Born young, died old. All the years in between full of love!Family and friends are invited to call on Monday, from 10:00 until 11:00 am at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, where her funeral service will be held at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Rosedale Memorial Park, Bensalem.
