

Catherine R. "Sissy" "Kate" Sommerer died on Thursday, December 11,2014 at St. Mary Medical Center. She was 74. Born in Philadelphia, Sissy has been a Lower Bucks resident for over 40 years. She worked as an administrative assistant at New Jersey Manufacturers Insurance Company in Ewing, NJ for the past 15 years and cherished the friendships she made there. Sissy made every occasion large and small trully special with the special gifts she gave to the loves of her life; her husband John, her girls and little girls. She also took great pride in attending all of their events and activities. She was an avid Phillies fan and also enjoyed reading. Sissy was all about her family. She enjoyed spending the weekends with her husband John, looking for a good flea market. She also liked traveling,especially the annual family vacation to the Outer Banks which is in its 25th year. Sissy's greatest pleasure was to care for others and found true joy in helping people. Sissy was the the beloved wife of John for 56 years. She and John loved each other so much that they renewed their vows twice; most recently on a suprise family cruise to celebrate their 50th wedding anniverary with her children and grandchildren in attendance. She was the loving mother of Katie Sommerer (Mary Jo), Lisa Nastasiak (Steven), Shelly Sommerer (Steve), Tricia Sommerer (Denis), Heather Anne Sommerer (Nick) and the late Mary. She was the cherished grandmother of Jillian Catherine and Gabrielle Nicole. Sissy will also be missed by her loving and devoted brothers Edward Hamilton (Jeannette) and Robert Hamilton (Teresa), numerous nieces, nephews and members of the Hamilton and Sommerer families. The family of Sissy would also like to thank the wonderful and caring nurses and doctors at St Mary Medical. Family and friends are invited to attend her funeral Mass on Monday 12 noon at St. Frances Cabrini Church, 325 S. Oxford Valley Rd.,Fairless Hills where friends may call from 11 a.m. until time of the Mass. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, please perform a random act of kindness in Sissy's memory.
