

Charles R. Boyd of Levittown, died on Thursday, October 25, 2012 at Aria Health Care Center, Bucks County Campus. He was 84. Mr. Boyd was an avid farmer in northeast Philadelphia in his younger years. He became an original homeowner and then a longtime resident of Levittown. Over the years, he wore many hats: having served as a pfc in the United States Marine Corps in the South Pacific during World War II, he was also a merchant sailor. A state policeman for the Department of Forestry and Waters, he ran the water treatment plant for USX for more than 30 years before his retirement. He also owned and operated his own small trucking company. Charles lived a life filled with service to his country, his community and his family. Charles was the beloved husband of Marie P. Sousa and the loving father of Rodney C. and Richard C. Boyd. He will also be sadly missed by his grandson Clinton D. Boyd. Services and interment will be held privately at the convenience of his family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Charles may be sent to Shriner's Hospital for Children, 3551 North Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA 19140.
