
Charles F. Gerber Charles F. Gerber died at his home in Levittown on Wednesday, August 18, 2010. He was 79. Born in Hazleton, he was a forty three year resident of Levittown and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Levittown. Mr. Gerber was a crane operator in the open hearth division of US Steel Fairless Works for thirty one years. He was employed with the Bucks County Intermediate Unit 22 and was a janitor for the Harriman United Methodist Church. Mr. Gerber served in both the US Navy and the US Air Force and was a Korean War veteran. He was a member of American Legion Post 960. He enjoyed trips to the casino, playing cards and bowling. Beloved husband of the late Sarah L. (Derby), Mr. Gerber is survived by his loving daughters, Sarah L. Ruth (Michael) of Freedom, PA; Stacy L. Sakalauskas (Joseph); Sherry Heinemann (Fred); and Shannon L. Griffith (David) all of Levittown and was the devoted grandfather of, Samantha, Joey, Lori, Freddie, David, Alexis, Zachary and Amber. He will also be sadly missed by many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, 7:00 until 9:00 pm and on Saturday, 9:00 until 10:00 am at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown. A graveside service will follow on Saturday, 1:30 pm, Grand Army Cemetery, Summitt Hill. The family has requested that memorial contributions in his name be made to American Kidney Fund, 6110 Executive Blvd., Suite A100, Rockville, MD 20852.
