Born in Buffalo, NY, the son of the late Eva Helen (Dinsmore) and Henry Grassel, he attended T.E. Junior High School, Paoli Schools and Genery Wayne Junior High School. He earned his Bachelors Degree in education from West Chester University and his Masters Degree from the University of Pennsylvania.
Mr. Grassel served in the US Marines during the Korean War and was awarded the Navy Cross.
He was a geography and history teacher for 50 years, retiring in 2007 from West Chester University.
Beloved husband of 26 years to Kathleen A. (Kimsal), he is the loving father of Amy Louise Williams of St. Petersburg, FL and the stepfather of Nathanial Louis Gordon. He also will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.
Services and interment will be held privately.
