Charles "Charlie" Horvath Jr. aka "Wild Man," aged 66, passed away suddenly on July 24th, 2025 in Levittown, PA. Charlie was the life of the party, known for his magnetic personality and welcoming spirit.
Charlie's commitment to his work was exemplified through his esteemed 36-year tenure with the bridge commission, where he achieved the notable distinction of being the youngest senior sergeant in its history. His work ethic and dedication to service were unmatched and will be remembered by all his colleagues and those he served.
Beyond his professional achievements, Charlie was a passionate individual with diverse interests. He was an active member of FOP Lodge #053. Charlie could lift the spirits of a room just as easily as he could lift weights as a World Champion in powerlifting. His hobbies included fishing with buddies, a passion for professional wrestling, and watching sports, particularly cheering on Penn State and Philly teams. Above all else, Charlie's greatest love was for his family.
Charlie leaves behind his adored wife, Joanmarie, "Joni"; sons, Bryan (Rachel) and Michael (Amanda); granddaughters, Eloise and Sophie, whom he adored as their "Pop." Charlie also maintained a close relationship with his in-laws, the late Joan and Howard East, sisters and brothers-in-law: Elaine (Todd), Stephen (Danielle), and Theresa (Scott), along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and beloved friends.
Charlie was predeceased by his parents, Charles Sr. and Margaret Horvath, and his brother, George Horvath.
