

Charles (Chuck, Poppy) Francis Mazenko Sr., 76, Levittown, PA bravely ended a two year battle with Leukemia on July 7, 2010. Chuck never complained about his disease, and managed to shine his faith and love on all of those who he encountered right up until the end. Chuck was born of the late Joseph and Thelma Mazenko on October 10, 1933, in Rosebud, PA. and was one of 15 loving children: Joseph (Ruth Ann) of Irvona, PA, Linda Letzinger (Chuck) of Philadelphia, TN, Robert (Darla) of Coalport, PA, Mary Helen Albright (James) of Coalport, PA, Terrence (Lorraine) Doylestown, Thomas (Cindy) Levittown, James (Carol) of Coalport, PA, Timothy (Doris) of Irvona, PA, Ronald "Bubs" (Karen) of Fairless Hills, Ruth Anne "Rudy" Lawler (Dan) of Blain, PA and his sister-in-law, Marion. He was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, William, Henrietta, Marietta, and Margaret "Peg" Schrey Badgley. He married Linda Lee Spencer on April 25, 1959 and lived a happy 51 years together in their Levittown home. Chuck served proudly in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, 1952-1956. He served as an usher and devoted member of Saint Michael the Archangel Church. Chuck worked very hard all his life to support his family as a skilled heavy equipment operator - first for various pipeline construction companies on the East coast, then as a crane Operator for Delaware Valley Scrap Yard, and finally ending his career the last 12 years as a Public Works Employee for Falls Township. He used his equipment skills, determination, and generosity of spirit to help build Levittown Continental Little League baseball fields. After retirement, Chuck worked part time for Oxford Valley Golf Course in Fairless Hills where he spent many hours enjoying golf and making new friends. Chuck loved to be outdoors fishing, hunting, gardening, watching his grandchildren play many sports, and loved to dote on his "baby" dog Hannah. He was proud to be sober for 28+ years, and has many friends of Bill W. Chuck is survived by his loving wife Linda, who resides in their warm Levittown home. Surviving children include Denise Lois McHugh (Mark), Dawn Ellen Killian (Jeff), Charles "Pete" Francis Jr. (Noreen Tazik), all of Levittown and Ralph Spencer (Christine Davis), Harleysville, PA. Poppy's Surviving grandchildren include Jeffrey John Killian Jr.(Lindsay Kervick); Kelsey Maura McHugh; Lindsay Jean Killian; Sarah Marie Mazenko; Michael Joseph Mazenko; Sophia Corrine Mazenko Poppy is survived by a great grandson, Nathan John Killian and many nieces and nephews. His wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandson will proudly carry his loving nature, keen sense of humor, and positive energy with them forever. Poppy touched all who knew him in a special way and will be sorely missed and remembered fondly! Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, 7:00 until 9:00 pm at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown 19056. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, 10:00 am at Saint Michael the Archangel Church. Rite of Committal will take place Wednesday precisely 1:30 pm in Washington Crossing National Cemetery. There will be no calling hours on Wednesday morning.
