Born in Philadelphia on December 15, 1951, daughter of the late Jerry Powell and Clare (Geisheimer) Powell. she grew up in Levittown, Pennsylvania. She lived in Massachuettes where she married Ray Wheeler and helped raise his two daughters. With a Masters Degree in hand, she excelled at a busy exciting career. She finished her career at The McCormack Firm in 2014. During her career she met amazing people that would become dear friends. Although she was ill, she decided to continue with her retirement plan to be Mickey Mouse's neighbor. She made many more wonderful friends while living in Florida before moving back to Pennsylvania to be closer to her family
Whether you were honored to know her as a mom, grandmom, sister, niece, cousin, aunt, great aunt, or friend. She was an amazing woman who touched everyone in her path. Known for helping anyone at anytime. She always knew what you needed and gave it with all her heart. She fought for the earth and especially dolphins. She was full of love and was always willing to share that love. Even her smile glowed with her love and caring.
She was a shape shifter. She could change into a pirate, an evil witch, alien, or a Cruella de Vil. She had a history of stealing children and taking them on grand adventures. Returning them to their parents unharmed and slightly more dreamful. She had an extreme love for Disney and shared her Disney obsession with her family and friends. These times will always be remembered.
Clare Marie will be sadly missed by her daughters: Debra Pichel (Wheeler) and Suzanne Wheeler. Grandchildren: Ryan Pichel, Morgan Pichel, Brooke Pichel, and Adam Pichel. Siblings: Jerry Powell (Mary), Victoria Shore (Blair), Mark Powell, Irene Powell, Chris Powell (Michelle), Kathleen Hoffman (Jack), and the late Diane (Dee) Pulone. Nieces/Nephews: Mary Catherine Powell, Lei Anne Powell, JT Hartman, Victoria Hartman, James Hartman (Christine). Tom Powell, Winston Powell (Catherine), Spencer Powell (Samantha), Tristan Powell (Connor), Amy Hoffman. Theresa Billker, Jacquelynn Williams (Deonteaus), Jessica Helms, Kyle Pulone, along with multiple aunts, uncles, and great nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to her family who opened their hearts and home to selflessly care for her. Thanks to the caregivers that were so special, Adhie, Brittany, Hudson, and Vladimir, her nurses, Joanna, Cindy, and the entire Compassus Hospice Team, and all the visitors she had. They filled her with so much love and attention the last 18 months.
Legend has it that when the clock strikes midnight, you can hear her slightly evil laughter. She is sending us a reminder that she loved us and she lived greatly. Go live happily ever after!
