Cynthia Louise Bouffard (née Sampson), age 70, of Bensalem, Pennsylvania, passed away under heartbreaking circumstances.
Born in Bristol, PA, she was the beloved daughter of the late Robert T. Sampson and Marianne “Toby” Louise Sampson. Cynthia was a proud graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and went on to earn her nursing degree from Bucks County Community College (Class of 1981). She began her lifelong career at Capital Health in Trenton, New Jersey, in March 1983, where she cared for countless patients with dedication and compassion for over three decades.
She had a deep love for dogs, plants, and the simple joys of life. In her younger years, she loved skiing and racquetball, and throughout her life, she found joy in traveling—especially to Las Vegas and Atlantic City.
Cynthia was a fiercely independent, strong-willed woman, proud of her resilience and ability to stand on her own. Her family takes comfort in knowing she is now at peace and reunited with her daughter. Cynthia’s strength will never be forgotten, and her family hopes that her story will bring awareness to the importance of compassion, vigilance, and care for our elders.
She is survived by her children, Carrie M. Acevedo and Derrick K. Bouffard; her siblings, Garry Sampson, Keith (Kit) Sampson, and Cheryl Carter-Shotts; three grandchildren; and three great-granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her eldest daughter, Melanie L. Kosanovich, her brothers Mickey and Robin, and her parents.
A private service will be held at a later date to celebrate Cynthia’s life and honor her memory.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in her name to a local animal rescue organization, reflecting her lifelong love for dogs
