Dale A. Byers

Dale A. Byers died on Sunday, February 7, 2010 at Aria Health Bucks Campus. He was 52. Mr. Byers was a Levittown resident for the last 30 years. An avid "Harley" enthusiast, he also enjoyed hunting and gardening. He was a life long fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. A former longtime employee of US Steel, Fairless Works, he was a 17 year employee of Bristol Aluminum. Beloved husband of 30 years to Elaine M. East-Byers, he is the loving father of Kerianne E. Smith (Rick) and the "Pappy" to Kaitlyn, Megan and Liam Smith. He is the son of Helen Byers (Gilliland) and the late Harold W. Byers and the brother of Dolores, Sandy, Linda, Donald, Dennis and Karen. He will also be sadly missed by his faithful companion, his dog, Elmer A-S-2 and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Family and friends are invited to call on Friday from 10:00 am until 12:00 noon at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, where his funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow in Newtown Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dale's memory to Gilda's Motorcycle Run, PO Box 41, Fairless Hills, PA 19030.
