There are limitless fantastic things to say about Dan. He was husband to Christine, the love of his life. The couple met in 1999. Originally, they were set up as a blind date but fell deeply in love and married in 2001. Dan and Chris loved each other immensely and enjoyed traveling together. Some might use the term "stepdad", but he was every bit a real father to their four children: Lydia, Tara, Sydney and Zachary, whom he loved as his own. As well as his only granddaughter Audrey, who was his little best friend.
Dan leaves behind his loving wife Christine and their four children. He was preceded in death, by his father William, who left this earth far too soon, just as Dan did. Dan also leaves behind his mother Luise, his sister Lora and her husband Andy, his brother David, aunt Helene and uncles, Steve and Felix. His sons-in-law Gary and Scott. His granddaughter Audrey. His nieces Corrine and Alyse and nephew Jessy. Many many dear friends, co-workers and colleagues. He will be missed by his fur babies, Ivy and Peanut, but especially Peanut, his ZOOM buddy.
Dan was born in New York, then grew up in Yardley, Pennsylvania. He went to Pennsbury High School. Lover of all sports he enjoyed playing baseball, volleyball, and swam in high school. He was in chess tournaments, loved poker, and almost made it to the world series of poker tournament. He loved to play pool and always enjoyed a good bowling game. His favorite though, were the LA Raiders. Dan attended college at Immaculata University, where he received his M.A. in Counseling Psychology. He then went on to study at Lock Haven University, receiving his B.S., in Management Science.
Dan was a kind and gentle soul. He loved helping people and making them feel good. Anyone that ever met him was left with an impression of pure kindness, his witty sense of humor and generosity. One would always have a good feeling after meeting him. Dan rarely complained and always tried to be positive.
While being a social worker and working with the public day in and day out has its stressors, Dan kept at it because he was destined to help people and make their lives easier. From working in North Carolina as a psychologist in the toughest prison, to working with the homeless and making sure the families had somewhere safe to sleep.
Dan will truly be missed and always remembered. We hold his memories close to our hearts.
Dan’s Viewing will be held on Friday, December 29, 2023 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, PA 19056. A Memorial Tribute will begin at 3:00 p.m.
Christine Miringoff would like to extend to family and friends the opportunity to share their brief remembrance of Dan.
