Dave was educated at Bishop Egan High School, graduating in 1975, and went on to earn a B.S. in Accounting from Saint Francis University. He built a successful career in finance and accounting, marked by steady dedication and the quiet reliability that colleagues and loved ones came to trust.
Beyond his professional life, David’s interests reflected a mind that looked outward with curiosity and appreciation. Dave’s talents included playing the piano from an early age, regaling the family and friends with classics by Chopin, Beethoven, and of course many of his own variations of "Heart and Soul". He found pleasure and peace in gardening, and he carried a lifelong fascination with astronomy and photography. A collector at heart, he especially cherished NASA memorabilia, gathered over the course of his entire life—an enduring connection to the night sky that so often inspired him. In that same spirit, those who loved Dave will remember how naturally he could lift a moment with warmth and humor, offering kindness that never asked for attention and a sense of fun that made time with him brighter.
David was the son of Orvis Lee Bissinger and Dorothy Bissinger. He is survived by his siblings: Marianne Gallagher, Virginia Moran, Robert Bissinger (June), Thomas Bissinger, Elizabeth Bak (Steve), and Susan Bogner (Partner, Paul Davis). He was predeceased by his brother Steven C. Bissinger. David is also survived by many nieces and nephews, including Mark Gallagher, Sean Gallagher, Michael Bissinger, Lauren Nicolaides, Kathleen Donocoff, James Moran, and Ryan Moran, as well as many great nieces and nephews.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the Temple University Hospital Liver Transplant Program. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to http://www.Templehealth.org/giving/ways-to-give.
In remembering David, may those who knew him find comfort in the steady light he brought to others; and, when the evening sky turns clear, may a glance upward recall his lifelong wonder for what shines beyond us.
